Passengers on flights Quito – Coca are allowed to check in a maximum of 23 kg per person plus a carry-on hand luggage item of 10 kg with reading material, camera, binoculars, and personal documents. Additional or excess baggage is charged per pound directly by the airline.

• Binoculars for wildlife viewing (an absolute necessity).

• One or two pairs of shorts (mostly for around the lodge).

• Personal medications.

We recommend that children be at least 5 years old and suggest to hire a private guide.

Once we arrive to the Napo river port in Coca, it takes approximately 2 hours. Upon entering the Yasuni National Park we disembark and change to paddle canoes for approximately 1.5 hours.

This is relative, but we do recommend at least 3 months in advance or as soon as you make your plans start looking for availability.

There is no legal requirement to entrance Ecuador; however, we do recommend you ask your physician.

We have a doctor and a medical center at the Community. In case of an emergency the doctor will go to the lodge or passenger will be taken out to the Community. For further situations, we take passenger to Quito.

International or domestic airfares, airport departure taxes or visa fees, excess baggage charges, additional nights during the trip due to flight cancellations, alcoholic beverages or bottled water, laundry, wifi, tips.

For your convenience the following is a gratuity suggestion based on past experience at NWC:

• Local Guides: US$10/night per guest.
• Naturalist Guides: US$10/night per guest.
• Staff Members: US$5/night per guest.

Accommodations, all meals, pure water, river transportation, all excursions including Añangu Kichwa Community, and visits to the exclusive NWC´s parrot-macaw clay licks. It is also included the service of a native guide and naturalist bilingual guide. The entrance to the Yasuni National Park, rain poncho, and rubber boots provided when needed.

At the moment the price is US$256 per passenger and children under 12 years old 50% off the regular price, for which you must send copy of the passport. This price is subject to change.

The Napo Wildlife Center provides rubber boots (up to US men’s size 13) and nylon rain ponchos free of charge to those guests who request them.
You may choose to use your own boots or sneakers for forest hikes depending upon the conditions. Likewise, you may bring your own raingear. Of course soap, shampoo, towels, and other such items are provided just as they are at any luxury hotel.
There is a 44-pound (20kg) per person baggage limit on the flights from Quito to Coca, and overweight will be charged directly by the airline. This limit should not pose a problem to most Napo Wildlife Center travelers; also most hotels in Quito will store your dress clothes and heavy jackets for you while you are with us.

We recommend you contact your family physician, or your local travel clinic for the most up-to-date health information at least one month before departure. For your own safety, please advise us of any medical or food condition that may affect you while traveling.
If you are carrying prescription medication or require particular assistance, please bring with you a signed and dated letter from your physician stating health problems and dosage requirements for any medication, to be provided to our doctor on board as well as to medical authorities in case of an emergency.

All meals are included during your stay at Napo Wildlife Center with a soft drink or water. Alcoholic and additional drinks are extra. Our chefs provide a variety of excellent local, national and international dishes. For the preparation of all food, including salads, juices, and ice, we use purified bottled water.

A carefully chosen expedition team will lead your adventures at Napo Wildlife Center. Recruited not only for their local knowledge but also for their great love of the Amazon, in the field and during lectures, briefings and discussions, on everything from bird-watching, biology, geography, geology, history to ecological and social concerns (and much more).

You may want to read through the following criteria as to what we consider will help minimize your environmental footprint at Napo Wildlife Center.

Avoid devices that make foreign sounds in protected areas.

Don´t smoke in the forest o near wildlife

Do not wear perfume or perfumed sprays as the sweet scent can attract insects.

Don’t throw or drop anything along the trails, even biodegradable food.

Avoid bright colored shirts while in the forest, as they may scare the animals.

Napo Wildlife Center boasts a first-rate, dedicated staff, highly experienced in jungle tourism, emergencies and guests service, who will be available at all times to share their knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment to the environment with you.

• No smoking in the forest, nor in the boats (which carry gasoline).
• No littering.
• Do not harrass wildlife – when sighting wildlife follow your guide’s instructions.
• No wildlife collection or manipulation. If you should come across hurt wildlife, leave it be. It is part of the natural processes of the wilderness.
• Please separate your trash in the proper trash bins. All non-biodegradable trash. Please take batteries back with you.
• Please keep it quiet. Our rooms are not sound proof and guests come to listen to the sounds of nature. If you should want to listen to music outside the bar area, use headphones.
• The lodges are highly flammable. Do not leave candles unattended and locate the nearest extinguisher.
• Never go swimming in the Añangu Lake.
• Stay on the trails and take to the trails only with a guide. If for some reason you are separated from your guide, you can return to the lodge using your map and the trail markers.
• Always use life jackets on the boat and during boarding. Wear light shoes that are easy to take off. Never have rubber boots on when in the boats.
• Use rubber boots when heading to the forest or gardens at night. They reduce the risk of snake bites.
• When taking people photos, ask first!

Napo Wildlife Center and Yasuni National Park are a free-zone of malaria, yellow fever or zika virus. We have never registered any case for more than 20 years that we have been operating.
